Kalevala Jewelry's new business unit, Kalevala Innovation Lab, develops and pilots functional jewelry and related services together with the end users and interesting start ups. The intent is to create products and services that help people in their everyday lives and merge beauty with technology. Kalevala Innovation Lab's first smart jewelry product family to enter a public beta phase is the Kalevala Buddy collection developed together with a Finnish start up Biisafe. Kalevala Buddy smart jewelry utilises wireless Bluetooth technology and together with a mobile app for Apple iOs and Anroid improves the users security and brings a new way to be in touch with friends. A press of a button on the jewelry shares the user's location or sends an emergency message. Activity tracking capabilities will also be added during 2017. A small batch of Kalevala Buddies is now available from Kalevala Jewelry webshop for early adopters who love to try out new technology and to be a part of the beta phase testing. We wish that everyone purchasing the Kalevala Buddy smart jewelry would be able to participate a customer survey early 2017. The Kalevala Buddy collection will hit the stores in the spring 2017.

We will be bringing new unreleased smart jewelry products on this page once the next product line reaches public beta.
